Lining fabrics

In the hotel, darkening the room is an important aspect in the selection of fabrics. Not always, one can choose a fabric with darkening or energy saving function. But there is the possibility of feed fabrics with lining fabrics.

Which fabrics are suitable as functional lining:

Dark Lining + Dark 300 Lining: Darkening effect of 99%
Black Lining + Black 280 Lining: Darkening effect of100%
Cool Lining: Energy efficient fabric

Processing lining fabrics without wrinkles

The curtain is processed with a folding strip. Below the fold belt a loop tape is sewn. Then the curtain sets in wrinkles and applies the lining fabric on it, which is provided with a velcro.

Advantage of the processing: You need for the food less lining fabrics.

Doubling curtain with lining

The curtain is fully lined with the lining fabric, just the seam remains open. The folding strip is stitched to lining and curtain, and both are placed together in wrinkles.

Completely detachable

Curtain and lining are treated as wholesome decorative fabrics and connected only by a velcro on the sides. This processing has the advantage that, for example, the curtain can be separated from the lining to wash.

Pleat tapes

Pleat tapes have a considerable influence on the drape of the fabric. They can give the most differing results and optical appearances.

Smok Pleat

This pleat is extremely elegant due to its regular gathering and is suitable for interior decorations for an upmarket interior decorating style. Both curtains and sheers are suitable for this pleat.

Details:
Fullness: 1:2
Automatic pleat tape: 80 mm width
(also possible with differing fullness and widths)

Triple pleat

This commends itself by its regular fan-shaped folding with shallow spaces in-between. Such curtains appear highly qualitative and pleasant. The triple pleat is suitable both for curtains and sheers.

Details:
Fullness: 1:1,5 / 1:2 / 1:2,5
Automatic pleat tape: 50 mm width
(also possible with differing fullness and width)

Wave Tape

As the name says: this modern wave tape guarantees regular wave-like fold of the curtain or the sheer. The appearance is extremly attractive wether the curtain is drawn or open.

Details:
Fullness: the fullness is variable, for example 1:2,5
Loop tape: 50 mm width

Universal Tape

Universal tape is a classical curain tape. Depending on the customer's wish it can be folded more or less intensely. It is suitable for curtains and sheers.

Details:
Fullness: 1:2 ((the fullness is possible between 1:1 up to 1:3)
Universal tape: 50 mm width
(also available in 20 mm)

Pinch Pleat

The pinch pleat is a special variation of the triple pleat; it is supported by incorporating a little rod and it thus produces a very exact fold. The processing is extremely high quality and produces a perfect folding optic. It is suitable for curtains and sheers. This pleat is firmly sewn into the curtains.

Details:
Fullness: 1:2,5
High of pleat: 100 mm width
(also possible with differing fullness and widths)

hem manufacturing

The hem manufacturing of a curtain or a sheer is important for the total appearance of a window. The more exclusive a room is, the more detailed the seam of a curtain should be.

Classical Seam

The classical seam widths are between 10 and 20 centimetres. Generally, the seam should be folded twice and be weighted with a lead tape. The weight of the lead tape has to be adjusted to the weight of the fabric.

Side Seams

The side seams should be folded twice. One can choose between a blind hem or a visible seam. The width of the side seams should be at least two centimetres.

Visible Seam

The visible seam can also be described as "open stitch". It is a classical sewing machine seam, which is visible on both sides of the fabrics. The finer the yarn is and the more the colour of the yarn matches the fabric, the less visible the seam becomes.

Blind Hem

The blind hem makes the seam almost invisible. The thicker the fabric, the less visible the hem is. The blind hem is particularly recommended for velvets, satins, taffetas and dimouts.

Knitted fabrics

Processing Instructions Drop, Haze and Flux
Knitted fabrics compared to woven fabrics

Knitted fabrics open up new possibilities in design. The material must first be understood so that a high-quality product can be guaranteed. When processing the product, the special properties must therefore be taken into account.

Woven fabrics are generally inelastic, while knitwear is naturally stretchable/stretchable. Woven fabrics are a construction of warp and weft. Knitted fabrics, on the other hand, consist of loops that are movable. Due to their stretchability, knitted fabrics are easier to handle when padding organic shapes.

Sewing instructions

The articles Drop, Haze and Flux are a three-layer knitted fabric. Knitted fabrics are a novelty in upholstery. Therefore some explanations on the processing are needed here. The following recommendations should help you when sewing.

Knitted goods must be handled with special care. Make sure that the work surface is clean and free of sharp objects. Before you start sewing, you must sew the upholstered textiles with an overlock seam. This will prevent the filling from leaking.

Always use a ball point needle (SUK needle).  This needle has a rounded point, which is typically used for knitted goods. A pointed needle, on the other hand, could cause holes, as it could pierce the thread and thus damage it.

Recommended needle size: NM 90
Recommended thread thickness: 70/3 - 80/2
The correct number of stitches is between 2.5 and 3 stitches per centimeter.

Seam types

Any type of seam is possible. Normal backstitches may be used. If the seam is exposed to a higher tension, a chain stitch can be used. However, chain stitches have the disadvantage that the seam is more visible and therefore less attractive.
We recommend a sewing machine with top and bottom feed for feeding the textiles. If there is only a top feed, this can lead to unwanted tension between the layers of the textiles. We recommend an automatic feeding system for the sewing thread so that the thread is not pulled in.
